Invitation for Graduate student participation
Deadline for nominations: April 18, 2008
Dalhousie University has been invited to nominate our top 2% of PhD students in the health sciences for fully-funded participation in the CIHR national research poster competition within the Canadian Student Health Research Forum (CSHRF).
The aim of the CSHRF is to provide a venue for the networking, research exposure and recognition of Canada's most promising research trainees in the health sciences. While the primary component is the judged research poster competition (with associated, nationally recognized CIHR awards of excellence), value-added elements include tours of unique research facilities such as the National Virology Laboratory, student-led social events such as a riverboat dinner cruise, a CIHR information session with the CIHR Director of Research Capacity Development and several CIHR Institute representatives and a cross-disciplinary symposium on a hot topic with internationally-recognized speakers (this year's symposium will be on Stem Cells). This is a unique opportunity to advance the careers of our top students and to showcase their excellence. Please see details on their website at: www.umanitoba.ca/medicine/research_days
This two-day event will be held June 4 - 5 in Winnipeg.
As in the past, we will fund invited students’ participation by providing air travel expenses, accommodation and per diem in Winnipeg, registration for the Forum, social amenities and CIHR awards of excellence. The Programme of the event, including all student poster abstracts will be published, both in print and on the web.
